Our founder, Wise Atangana, has been working for years to help educate others on the challenges that Canadian black and immigrant communities face. As a poet, musician, and motivational speaker, Wise has shown thousands of people the importance of challenging systemic injustices. As a black immigrant himself, Wise is deeply connected to the issues that systemically disenfranchised groups face.
After several years of using his talents to raise awareness, Wise felt called to make a greater change in his community when he learned about the death of George Floyd. By pooling the combined talents of fellow artists and digital media specialists, Wise founded the Afro Black Cultural & Media Centre to give black youths, immigrants, and artists an opportunity to express themselves in a constructive environment.
